Talent Match North East will be celebrating the successes of young people, and others involved with the programme, at their second annual awards ceremony on Thursday 17 May 2018.
Talent Match North East is funded by the Big Lottery and is dedicated to providing long-term unemployed young people with the tailored support they need to overcome barriers into work.
The event, to be held at The Assembly Rooms, Newcastle, will highlight achievements in seven areas, including categories for youth coaches, employers, partners and, of course, young people.

We are inviting nominations for each category over the next six weeks, closing at the end of March. We are hoping to get an even better response than last year when we received more than 80 submissions.
Progression Award – Awarded to a young person who has overcome significant barriers or challenges since starting on the Talent Match programme. The winner may have moved into education, training or employment or will have progressed towards their goals since joining Talent Match.
Youth Coach Award – Awarded to a Talent Match Youth Coach who has provided excellent support and guidance to young people on the programme. The award winner will have demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to helping young people grow and achieve their goals on the programme, ensuring their approach is tailored to the needs of each individual.
High-flyer Award – Awarded to a Talent Match young person who has excelled since entering the world of work. Employer feedback included on/with nomination forms is preferable.
Achieving Together Award – Awarded to two or more people or organisations that have worked exceptionally well together to help a TMNE young person achieve their goals on their Talent Match journey.
Inspiration Award – Awarded to a Talent Match young person who has made a significant effort to support others involved with the programme. The Inspiration Award recognises young people who have given back to the programme, whether through volunteering or providing their views and feedback to help improve Talent Match in the future.
Star Employer Award – Awarded to the employer who has offered outstanding support to a young person or young people on Talent Match. This could include, but is not limited to, work experience, training, job opportunities and support with events.
Outstanding Achievement Award – Awarded to an outstanding young person who exemplifies the Talent Match journey. The winner will have overcome substantial barriers whilst on Talent Match and successfully progressed into employment, training or education.

Nominations will be reduced to a shortlist of three and a winner will be selected by our judging panel, which includes a young person’s representative.
All shortlisted nominees will be invited to the TMNE awards event on the 17 May, and the winner will be announced at the event when the presentation is made.
